Volkswagen Tops Used Car Sales in Morocco in 2024

Volkswagen, the German automotive brand, led used car sales in Morocco last year, according to a study conducted by researchers from Abdelmalek Essaadi University on the used car market.

The study analyzed over 101,000 sales ads published on digital platforms, revealing a trend towards relatively modern vehicles, with 2019 models dominating the market, followed by models from 2018 and 2021. This indicates a rapid turnover in vehicles, typically not exceeding six years.

In terms of brands, Volkswagen ranked first, followed by Renault and Peugeot, while Mercedes-Benz stood out in the luxury car segment and Dacia in the economy category.

According to the study, the used car market serves as a vital alternative for Moroccan consumers facing rising new car prices and provides job opportunities in sales and maintenance sectors.
