CAF Increases Cash Prizes for Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced an increase in the cash prizes allocated for the Africa Cup of Nations, set to take place in Morocco in 2025, bringing the total to $32 million—a record amount in the history of the continental tournament.

With this adjustment, the champion team will receive $7 million, while the runner-up will get $4 million. This reflects CAF’s growing commitment to elevate the tournament’s global status and recognize the efforts of the participating teams.

This move is a significant indication of the Africa Cup of Nations’ tremendous growth, being the most prestigious and followed tournament on the African continent, with millions of viewers both within Africa and abroad. It also serves as a platform for African players to showcase their talents in front of major global clubs.

Observers believe that increasing the prize money will motivate teams to deliver stronger performances, enhancing the appeal of the tournament, especially since the upcoming edition will be hosted in Morocco, a country that has previously succeeded in organizing major continental and international events, thus raising expectations for an exceptional edition on all fronts.
