Tarik Mfalal Elected President of the “Renewable Energy Cluster” in Morocco

Tarik Mfalal, the Chief Executive Officer of the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN), has been elected as the president of the Renewable Energy Cluster in Morocco (ENR Maroc) during the electoral general assembly, which gathered more than 150 members and institutional partners. This event was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, underscoring the strategic role of the cluster in implementing the kingdom’s major energy directives.

On this occasion, Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour praised the commitment of cluster members towards energy transition, considering that these elections lay the foundation for a new dynamic that holds promising opportunities for the national renewable energy ecosystem. The minister asserted that the cluster, as a platform for innovation and competitiveness, is a crucial lever for solidifying strategic projects industrially and territorially. He called for strengthening local integration and embracing future technologies such as batteries, energy storage, and green hydrogen.

For her part, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development Leila Benali, through a message read by the Secretary-General of her ministry Mohamed Ouahmed, reminded attendees of the cluster’s importance in supporting the national energy transition. She highlighted its contribution to enhancing the competitiveness of businesses, developing local offerings, and creating sustainable job opportunities by gathering expertise and promoting innovation.

Additionally, the board of directors of the cluster was renewed to ensure continuity and enhance governance, now comprising 22 members representing various components of the ecosystem: major companies, startups and innovators, professional federations, universities, research centers, and financial institutions.
