On Friday, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, signed a memorandum of understanding in Beijing with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, establishing a mechanism for strategic dialogue between the foreign ministries of both countries.
This mechanism builds on the joint announcement of the strategic partnership signed by King Mohammed VI and Chinese President Xi Jinping on May 11, 2016, in the Chinese capital.
The new agreement aims to restructure high-level dialogue between Rabat and Beijing based on trust, understanding, and mutual respect, while enhancing coordination and communication on issues of common interest at various levels.
Establishing this mechanism is an additional building block in the development of bilateral relations between Morocco and China, contributing to the strengthening of historical ties between the two strategic partners.
