Gianni Infantino Praises Progress on the Grand Stadium of Tangier During Official Visit
Mr. Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, made an official visit to Tangier, accompanied by Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. They inspected the ongoing works at the Grand Stadium of Tangier, in the presence of Mr. Younes Al-Tazi, the governor of the city.
During the tour, the project supervisors provided a detailed explanation of the renovations and facilities being constructed, all carried out by Moroccan labor with the support of national companies, which impressed Mr. Infantino.
The FIFA President commended the efforts being made and congratulated Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for this football edifice that enhances the country’s stature in the international football arena. Infantino emphasized that the stadium will attract global attention, especially with Morocco preparing to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 and contributing to the hosting of the 2030 World Cup, in collaboration with Portugal and Spain.
This visit highlights the efficiency and professionalism of Morocco in executing major sports projects, and underscores how the Grand Stadium of Tangier represents a significant addition to the country’s sports infrastructure, bolstering its capacity to organize major global football events.
