Morocco Achieves New Record in Red Berry Exports
Morocco has set a new record in exporting fresh red berries (Framboise) during the 2024/2025 agricultural season (from July to June), exporting 64,400 tons with revenues amounting to $487 million, according to data from East Fruit.
This achievement represents a 13.8% increase compared to the previous season and a 9% rise from the previous record set during the 2022/2023 season.
The export period is relatively long, spanning nearly the entire year, with peak exports occurring between November and May. In April 2025 alone, more than 10,000 tons were exported, marking the largest monthly volume of the season.
The United Kingdom remains the primary destination for these exports, accounting for over 30% of total shipments. Since the 2022/2023 season, Morocco has become the leading exporter of red berries to the British market, surpassing Spain (23.4%), the Netherlands (18.4%), Germany (13.6%), and France (7.9%). These five markets constitute 94.4% of Morocco’s total exports of this fruit.
In addition to these traditional markets, Morocco has expanded its export reach to include new destinations, sending 3,500 tons to countries such as Belgium and various nations in the Middle East.
For the second consecutive year, Moroccan berries have entered the markets of Austria and Switzerland, with trial shipments sent to Romania. Thus, the number of countries importing Moroccan berries this season has reached 26.
