CGI Acquires Abside to Enhance Its Digital and Engineering Presence in Europe and Morocco

CGI, one of the world’s largest independent IT and management consulting firms, has successfully acquired the French company Abside, which specializes in digital and engineering services. This strategic move aims to strengthen CGI’s presence in France, Europe, and Morocco.

Abside operates in France, Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Portugal, and Switzerland, and is renowned for its expertise in industrial, financial, insurance, and public sectors, as well as its technological skills in data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.

This acquisition allows CGI to enhance its capabilities in the manufacturing and financial services sectors, with over 2,500 professionals joining its new team, including about 120 in Morocco.

In this regard, Caroline de Grandmaison, head of CGI’s operations in France, stated: “We are pleased to welcome Abside’s talents to CGI. Our companies share a unified culture and values rooted in innovation, responsibility, and commitment, through which we place our employees at the core of everything we do. By combining our strengths, we enhance our technological offerings and strengthen our ability to support our clients through their most complex transformations.”

For his part, Abdalali Al-Ansari, Vice President and head of CGI’s operations in Morocco, mentioned that “this acquisition is a strategic step that enhances CGI’s position in Morocco and enriches its global offerings. With the addition of 120 new talents, we take an important step in developing our local teams and enhancing our ability to respond to the growth of our activities in Morocco.”

CGI was established in 1976 and today employs around 93,000 consultants and professionals worldwide, offering consulting services in management and IT, systems integration, business process management, and intellectual property solutions. The company has adopted a collaborative model based on local relationships supported by a global network, enabling clients to achieve their digital transformation quickly and effectively. CGI’s revenue for the fiscal year 2024 was approximately CAD 14.68 billion.
