The Central African Republic is seeking to mobilize approximately $12.5 billion from Morocco to fund its strategic projects within the National Development Plan 2024-2028, according to a statement by Richard Veillon, Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation of the Central African Republic, during an investment roundtable hosted by Morocco over two days.

During the inauguration of this meeting, Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance, emphasized yesterday in Casablanca that Morocco, under the wise leadership of King Mohammed VI, continuously strives to enhance South-South cooperation and joint development in Africa. She noted that this meeting reflects “the Kingdom of Morocco’s enduring commitment to South-South cooperation and supporting the development of this country.”

The minister asserted that this event is part of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s vision aimed at strengthening African solidarity, affirming that the Kingdom stands alongside the Central African Republic, which is moving towards a promising developmental path.

She added that organizing this meeting in Morocco, which has extensive experience in developing public-private partnerships and mobilizing funding, represents a significant opportunity to present the investment opportunities offered by the Central African Republic to international and regional investors.

For his part, Richard Veillon, Minister of Economy, Planning, and International Cooperation of the Central African Republic, stated that “this roundtable represents an extremely important occasion for the Central African Republic, as it is the first time such an event is being held in Casablanca, a city recognized as a global commercial center.”

Veillon further expressed that “our country takes special pride in cooperating with the Kingdom of Morocco to mobilize investors around the National Development Plan, which reflects our people’s ambitions for sustainable growth and progress.”

The opening ceremony of this meeting was attended by the President of the Central African Republic, His Excellency Faustin-Archange Touadéra, accompanied by several senior officials from his country.

Additionally, the inauguration was attended by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdel Samad Guioh, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal Filah Sghorouchni, as well as the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Morocco to the United Nations, Omar Hilale, the Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation, Mohamed Methkal, and the Director General of the Deposit and Management Fund, Khalid Safir, alongside numerous officials from both the public and private sectors.
