Arrest of Impersonator Pretending to Be Military and Security Officials in Salé Following Issuance of Two Search Warrants
Worazazate – On Wednesday, August 3, the regional police in Worazazate, in coordination with their counterparts in Salé and with the support of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, arrested a suspect believed to be involved in cases of impersonation of public officials and fraud.
Preliminary information indicates that the suspect impersonated military and security officials and defrauded several victims in Salé, obtaining sums of money from them in exchange for false promises of employment in public forces or enrollment in sports institutes, as well as intervening on their behalf in matters related to traffic accidents.
Field investigations allowed authorities to pinpoint his location and apprehend him in the city of Worazazate. A check of his records in the national police database revealed that he was subject to two national search warrants related to issuing a check without sufficient funds and other acts of fraud.
The suspect has been placed under custody as part of a judicial investigation overseen by the competent public prosecutor’s office, aimed at uncovering the circumstances of this case and identifying all criminal acts attributed to him.
