A Chinese company invests 683 million dirhams to produce automotive components in Morocco

Tianyouwei, a Chinese company, has announced the establishment of a new branch in Morocco that specializes in manufacturing electronic equipment for the automotive industry, with an investment exceeding 683 million dirhams (€65 million), fully funded by its own resources.

The new branch, named Tianyouwei Electronics Morocco Co., Ltd, will be 100% owned by the group and will focus on producing electronic dashboards and developing smart interior systems in a rapidly growing sector.

The company sees Morocco as strategically positioned in its global plan, benefiting from a comprehensive industrial ecosystem in the automotive sector and its proximity to Europe, which enhances the competitiveness of its products internationally.

The group confirmed that this move will contribute to improving global industrial planning, ensuring the stability of its production capabilities, and responding better to customer demands. Tianyouwei partners with several major manufacturers, including Hyundai, BYD, Changan, Chery, FAW Besturn, and Geely.

Despite a slight decline in its revenues in the first half of 2025, decreasing by 0.49% to 2.029 billion yuan, the company continues to expand its international presence after launching a factory in Mexico to serve the North American market, in addition to another in South Korea.

This investment enhances Morocco’s position as a key destination for Chinese groups in the automotive sector, especially following the announcement by Bethel Automotive Safety Systems at the end of July about a $75 million project to establish a unit for producing automotive safety systems.

With this project, Morocco reaffirms its attractiveness as a central industrial hub and a preferred location for major international automotive component companies.
