“Urban Planning and Housing in Service of Moroccans Abroad” – A National Caravan Tour Across 10 Cities to Support the Community
On Friday, August 2, 2025, in Tangier, the Ministry of National Land Planning, Urbanism, Housing, and City Policy launched a national campaign aimed at Moroccans living abroad under the slogan “Urban Planning and Housing in Service of Moroccans Abroad.” This initiative is part of a national mobilization to support the expatriate community.
The initiative, which will continue until August 31, includes a caravan that will traverse ten cities across various regions of the Kingdom. The aim is to provide direct services and accurate information regarding public housing programs, with the “Direct Housing Support Program” being a key focus.
The ministry emphasized that the campaign aligns with royal directives regarding the care of the Moroccan community abroad. It is a response to the ministerial circular sent by Minister Fatima Zahra Mansouri to urban agencies, the urban development groups, and regional and provincial directorates, which called for closer services and enhanced trust and communication bridges with citizens residing abroad.
The measures accompanying the campaign’s launch include:
- Establishing reception and guidance spaces in the ministry’s central and regional offices.
- Allocating dedicated counters for urban development companies and reception cells within urban agencies.
- Mobilizing border crossings to organize open days and introduce the community to available services.
- Simplifying procedures for housing and investment projects intended for Moroccans abroad.
The ministry clarified that it places citizens, both within the country and abroad, at the center of its priorities through field and informational support, providing digital platforms for communication and access to urban planning data.
It also stressed the strategic nature of this campaign, expressing its ongoing readiness to support community members and strengthen their ties to their homeland through transparent services, clear offers, and a citizen-focused approach.
