The United Nations Commends Morocco’s Role in Supporting the Political Solution in Libya and Facilitating Dialogue Between Conflict Parties

Hana Serwa Titi, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in the country, commended Morocco’s commitment to supporting dialogue among Libyan parties during a meeting in Rabat on Monday.
Titi expressed her deep appreciation for Morocco’s efforts in advancing the political process in Libya, alongside its ongoing support for the UN mission in the country, in a statement to the press following her meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
She added that Morocco is a key partner in the pursuit of a political consensus among Libyan factions, emphasizing the critical role the Kingdom has played in navigating sensitive stages of this journey.
Titi also highlighted the current situation in Libya, noting the country is going through a very complex phase, with tensions experienced in Tripoli over the past months, as well as the challenges faced in local elections. She pointed out that the UN continues to work with Libyan parties to establish a new political roadmap.
In conclusion, she affirmed the determination of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to continue supporting the Libyan people, backed by Moroccan efforts and international support, with the aim of overcoming the crisis and achieving stability.
