Mobile Phone Subscribers in Morocco Approaching 59 Million

The number of mobile phone subscribers in Morocco has increased significantly, reaching 58.8 million subscribers during the first half of 2025. This figure represents a growth of 3.2% compared to the same period in 2024.

According to data from the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts, this growth reflects a record penetration rate, which stood at 159.5% by the end of June 2025. This rate indicates that the number of subscriptions exceeds the population, suggesting that many individuals possess more than one mobile line.

Notable Growth in Internet Usage

In addition to mobile phones, the internet sector in Morocco has also witnessed strong growth. The number of internet subscribers reached 41.2 million by the end of June 2025, marking an increase of 5.2%.

As a result, the internet penetration rate reached 111.8%, up from 104.8% in June 2024, and 66.2% in June 2019, reflecting significant progress in advancing digital infrastructure in the country.
