Moroccan Aviation Sector Achieves Economic Takeoff with Exports Exceeding 14 Billion Dirhams in the First Half of 2025

The Foreign Exchange Office has revealed that Morocco’s aviation sector exports surpassed 14 billion dirhams during the first six months of 2025, marking an 8.8% growth compared to the same period last year. This development is attributed to the rise in sales of aircraft components, particularly in the “assembly” category, which saw an increase of approximately 728 million dirhams, and “wire harness systems,” which grew by over 427 million dirhams.

This performance strengthens Morocco’s position as a competitive industrial destination in the aviation sector, thanks to its strategic geographical location serving as a link between Europe and Africa, alongside advancements in its infrastructure and vocational training. The sector also contributes to revenue growth and reduces the trade deficit, alongside its expanding role alongside phosphates and automotive exports.

In numerical terms, exports in the first quarter of 2025 exceeded 9 billion dirhams, while imports did not exceed 6 billion dirhams, yielding a net added value of around 3 billion dirhams for the kingdom. It is anticipated that the sector will witness qualitative growth in the coming years, solidifying Morocco’s success story in the aviation industry, similar to its achievements in the automotive sector.
