The first edition of the World Surfing Championship for youth concluded today at Moulay Driss Beach in the Kenitra region, hosted by Morocco for the first time, as part of the celebrations for Youth Day. The championship featured promising champions from various continents, with a large audience passionately following the athletic performances, which gave the event an international resonance from the outset.

This sporting event has placed Moulay Driss Beach on the international map for water sports, transforming the city into a platform for challenge and creativity throughout the competition days, where the spirit of adventure met the charm of nature, spotlighting the beauty of the Kenitra coastline and its rich tourist potential, making the event even more remarkable.

The awards ceremony was attended by the governor of the Kenitra region, along with official figures, local elected representatives, and stakeholders in the sports sector, who honored the winners in various categories, acknowledging their high technical standards and the brilliant moments they showcased during the championship, which enhanced the event’s official and celebratory character.

This event is part of the first edition of the Kenitra Festival within a comprehensive celebration program for Youth Day, completing the scene that combined sports, art, and culture, reaffirming the city’s vitality and its distinctive status as a sports and tourism destination, while showcasing Kenitra’s ability to organize diverse and attractive international events.

The championship was organized through a partnership between the Royal Moroccan Surfing Federation and several local and international partners, as part of a strategy aimed at promoting water sports among youth and establishing Morocco as an international destination for major events, reflecting the kingdom’s vision for supporting talent and opening avenues for international competition.

Many participants expressed their admiration for the warm welcome and the quality of the organization, confirming that the experience at Moulay Driss will remain etched in their memories and looking forward to returning in future editions to continue shining on the waves of this unique Moroccan coast, thereby continuing to enhance Morocco’s reputation as a distinguished destination for water sports.
