Moroccan national team crowned African Champions after defeating Madagascar (3-2) in the final held at the “Kasarati” stadium, achieving a historic milestone by winning the title for the third time after the 2018 and 2020 editions, thus equaling the Democratic Republic of the Congo with two titles.
The match saw Madagascar open the scoring with a powerful shot from Philisette Manoharantsao in the ninth minute. However, Morocco’s response was swift, with Youssef Miyahri leveling the score with a header in the 27th minute, before Osama El Milioui added a second goal in the 44th minute.
In the 68th minute, Madagascar managed to equalize by taking advantage of a defensive lapse from the Moroccan team, with Toki Rakotondraibe scoring.
The surprise came in the 80th minute when El Milioui scored a “spectacular” goal from midfield, giving Morocco the lead and guiding the team toward victory and celebration of the title.
