Tangier: Man Arrested for Assaulting Police Officer and Civil Protection Personnel While Intoxicated
Police in the Tangier security district arrested a 46-year-old man late on Saturday, August 23, after he was involved in a verbal and physical assault against a police officer and two civil protection personnel while in an advanced state of intoxication.
According to available information, the suspect got into a knife fight with another individual, both of whom have criminal records. During the police intervention, he verbally abused the female officer before physically attacking the two civil protection members as they tried to assist him. Some parts of the incident were documented in a video circulated on social media.
The suspect and the other individual involved in the altercation were arrested and placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover all the circumstances of the incident and identify the criminal actions attributed to them.
