Ounahi Aims to Transition to Major Leagues

Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi has closed the door on returning to Greek club Panathinaikos during the current summer transfer window, as the Atlas Lion seeks an opportunity with a club from one of the top five European leagues in preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

According to “footballclubdemarseille,” the Greek team is keen to re-sign Ounahi after a successful loan period; however, the player has expressed a clear desire to embark on a new experience at a higher level to secure a spot in Walid Regragui’s squad for the “CAN.”

Meanwhile, Marseille has shown no willingness to lower its financial demands, insisting on receiving the full value for Ounahi’s transfer, while the player continues to wait for a suitable offer that aligns with his professional ambitions.

The French club decided to demote Ounahi to the reserve team following reports of his rejection of an offer from Russian club Spartak Moscow, according to media reports.

It is noteworthy that Ounahi’s contract with Olympique Marseille runs until the summer of 2027, having spent the previous season on loan with Panathinaikos.
