Mauritania: Fatalities and Material Losses Due to Heavy Rainfall
Follow-up
Recent heavy rainfall in several regions of Mauritania has resulted in the deaths of three people and caused damage to infrastructure and property.
The ministerial committee in charge of emergency response reported in a news bulletin released yesterday, Saturday, that the rainfall affected the Eastern and Western Hodh, Korukol, Brakna, and Teyarett regions, leading to damage to some roads and residential buildings, as well as power outages.
The committee confirmed that efforts are ongoing to mitigate the effects of the rainfall and assist those affected.
