A German Official: Morocco as a Strategic Platform for European Companies Toward Africa
Andreas Jan, President of the German Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises and Secretary General of the German Business Alliance for Africa, affirmed that Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is opening promising continental horizons for German and European companies thanks to its profound and transformative developmental path.
In a statement to the Moroccan News Agency, Jan explained that the Kingdom has evolved from being merely a local market to becoming a strategic platform for companies aspiring to establish a long-term presence in Africa.
The German official, a political figure and member of the ruling Christian Democratic Union in Germany, considered that Morocco’s dynamism enhances the rapport between Rabat and Berlin and draws increasing interest from German companies. He noted that both sides share common values and integrated industrial capabilities, creating fertile ground for a sustainable economic partnership. He expressed satisfaction regarding the anticipated participation of a significant German delegation, including representatives from major companies like Siemens, at the upcoming World Power-to-X Summit in Marrakech this October, aimed at exploring investment opportunities that Morocco offers in this promising field.
The German Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises represents the interests of over 900,000 businesses and operates in 32 professional associations, most of which are industrial. Celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year, the Federation boasts a network of 300 offices within Germany and 80 offices abroad, including one in Morocco, reflecting its deep interest in enhancing economic cooperation with the Kingdom.
