Shukri Alaj invites a strategic economic partnership between Morocco and Brazil to strengthen cooperation

Shukri Alaj, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, announced during the opening of the LIDE Morocco-Brazil Forum held in Marrakech that the relationship between Morocco and Brazil goes beyond their shared history to embody a unified vision for the future, based on investment and mutual trust.

Alaj clarified that Morocco and Brazil represent regional powers with global influence and a shared ambition to enhance cooperation among developing countries. He stressed that the integration between the two nations opens promising horizons in several sectors, notably agriculture, where traditional trade can shift to smart and sustainable partnerships. Additionally, tourism possesses substantial potential supported by advanced infrastructure.

He pointed out opportunities for cooperation in renewable energy, particularly through linking Morocco’s experience in solar energy with Brazil’s expertise in bioenergy, paving the way for joint development in green hydrogen. He also highlighted available potentials in the fields of space, automotive manufacturing, mining, and carbon solutions, emphasizing the need to incorporate innovation and technology into this cooperation.

Alaj asserted that Morocco is ready to serve as the gateway to Africa for Brazilian investors, thanks to its human resources, advanced infrastructure, and political and economic stability. He noted that Brazil also represents a natural entry point for Moroccan companies into the Latin American market.

The President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises concluded his remarks by reaffirming CGEM’s commitment to transforming these discussions into real partnerships and tangible projects that serve the mutual interests of both countries.
