Rida Slim Faces a Crisis with Al-Ahly Over Financial Dues

The relationship between Moroccan player Rida Slim, a forward for Al-Ahly, is facing tension as negotiations regarding his departure during the ongoing summer transfer window have stalled, according to Egyptian media reports.

Slim has rejected all proposals submitted by Al-Ahly’s management to facilitate his exit, insisting on receiving all remaining financial dues from his three-year contract. This has brought negotiations to a deadlock.

The player is demanding an amount of up to $2.2 million before agreeing to any settlement, while Al-Ahly management has expressed its willingness to cover his full salary if he is loaned to another club in the Egyptian league, in order to avoid him remaining without playing time.

Ceramica Cleopatra is the most prominent club interested in Slim’s services, amidst hopes of him regaining his form. However, the possibility of his return to Al-Ahly remains a valid option if circumstances surrounding his case improve.

The club had previously shown interest in extending Slim’s contract for an additional four years, based on a recommendation from sporting director Mohamed Ramadan, along with a proposal to increase his annual salary from $500,000 to $750,000. This step was a testament to Al-Ahly’s confidence in the player’s abilities. Nonetheless, his recent decline in form has altered the dynamics of the relationship, placing his future in uncertainty.
