Reconciliation: New Projects for the Reintegration of Former Inmates in Tangier
The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners, in partnership with the “Reconciliation” center, held a special ceremony on July 22, 2025, to deliver income-generating projects for 26 former inmates involved in extremism and terrorism, who benefited from the “Reconciliation” program. The event took place at the support and reintegration center in Tangier.
This initiative is part of the practical implementation of the royal directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aimed at instilling values of citizenship and enhancing the effective integration of this group of citizens into the social and economic fabric.
The projects provided covered various sectors, aiming to empower beneficiaries with independent and sustainable economic opportunities, demonstrating the commitment of both institutions to rebuild trust and enable former inmates to embark on a new beginning based on dignity and respect for the law.
The “Reconciliation” program stands out as a leading model in the field of psychological and intellectual rehabilitation, striving to correct extremist concepts and promote positive belonging to the society and the state, by supporting values of tolerance, discipline, and respect for institutions.
The ceremony was attended by several official figures, including the head of the Reconciliation center, the general coordinator of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners, representatives of judicial and administrative authorities, along with partners from public sectors and civil society activists.
This event reaffirms Morocco’s steadfast progress in pursuing reform and reintegration, through a comprehensive approach that balances security and humanity, embodying the spirit of responsibility and community solidarity.
