Peruvian Parliamentarian Considers Morocco a Model of Stability and Strategic Leadership
A A

Peruvian Congresswoman Rosangela Barbaran commended the Kingdom of Morocco, describing it as a reference point for stability, strategic vision, and constructive leadership. She stated that Morocco has become not only a reliable partner but also a model to be emulated in its regional and international context.

The Congresswoman expressed admiration for Moroccan diplomacy, highlighting it as modern, effective, and humanitarian. She noted its success in enhancing Morocco’s image as a stabilizing force in a changing world.

Barbaran praised the structural transformation taking place in Morocco, emphasizing that ongoing investment in infrastructure has made the kingdom a prominent regional player. She highlighted her visit to the Tangier-Mediterranean Port, which she described as a world-class logistics platform reflecting Morocco’s ambitions in the maritime and commercial fields. Additionally, she lauded the high-speed train project “Al Boraq,” considering it a model of innovation and efficiency in execution.

The Congresswoman drew attention to the Atlantic Dakhla Port project, aimed at establishing Dakhla as a strategic maritime hub to enhance integration into African and Latin American markets. She stated that this project reflects the royal vision of positioning Morocco as a bridge between continents. She also pointed to Morocco’s advanced transport network, including roads and airports, which has made it an important regional air hub.

Barbaran confirmed that Morocco has established itself diplomatically as a respected player in Africa and the Arab world, thanks to its dialogue-oriented approach and openness, while maintaining national sovereignty, particularly regarding the Moroccan Sahara issue.

She reminded that the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco in 2007 received support from over 120 countries, including major global powers such as the United States, Spain, France, and the United Kingdom.

Barbaran spoke about Morocco’s efforts to strengthen relations with Latin America, highlighting its membership as an observer in the Andean Community and participation in regional organizations such as the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament, the Organization of American States, and the Pacific Alliance, reflecting Morocco’s desire to build strategic partnerships with the region.

She concluded her remarks by praising Morocco’s progress in women’s empowerment, indicating that the policies in place have contributed to building an inclusive society where female leadership is seen as a tool for equality and a driver for social cohesion and overall development within the kingdom.
