OCP Nutricrops Strengthens Partnership with Bangladesh by Providing 1.1 Million Tons of Fertilizers

OCP Nutricrops, a subsidiary of the OCP Group, has signed a new strategic agreement with the Agricultural Development Foundation of Bangladesh, committing to supply 1.1 million tons of non-urea fertilizers from 2025 to 2026. This partnership reflects both parties’ commitment to sustainable agricultural development and achieving self-sufficiency.

OCP Nutricrops hosted an official delegation from Bangladesh, including officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agricultural Development Foundation. During the visit, the agreement was signed, and the delegation toured the industrial platform at Jorf Lasfar, the largest fertilizer production site in the world, as well as Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, exploring additional areas of cooperation in agricultural research, training, and technology transfer.

Youssef Al-Bari, CEO of OCP Nutricrops, emphasized that the agreement enhances mutual trust with Bangladeshi partners and paves the way for expanded cooperation in innovation and field training, reflecting a shared vision for agricultural development based on science and modern technologies.

This agreement represents the continuation of a collaborative journey that has lasted over 17 years, contributing to improved productivity in Bangladeshi agriculture and enhancing the capabilities of thousands of farmers through training programs that have benefited approximately 15,000 individuals, including over 4,400 women, since 2019. This underscores OCP’s role in promoting good agricultural practices and sustainable resource management.

Rahul Amin Khan, Chairman of the Agricultural Development Foundation of Bangladesh, expressed gratitude to Morocco and the OCP Group, conveying optimism about the future of cooperation in various areas, including training, logistical support, and technological innovation, which contribute to achieving food security and sustainable development for the country.

This initiative reflects the model adopted by OCP Nutricrops in South-South cooperation, providing effective local solutions and promoting agricultural transformation in developing economies, while emphasizing the importance of long-term synergy among agricultural stakeholders in the developing world.
