Morocco and Ecuador are seeking to enhance economic cooperation and develop industrial partnerships.
On Friday, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, met in Casablanca with Gabriela Sommerfeld, the Ecuadorian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility. Their discussions focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade and industry.
This visit comes as part of Morocco’s ongoing efforts to open up to Latin American countries, aiming to explore new opportunities for economic exchange and mutual investment.
In a statement to the press following the meeting, the Moroccan minister confirmed that this ministerial visit allowed for discussions on the potential to develop economic relations between the two countries. He mentioned that the Ecuadorian delegation would visit the Port of Tangier Med on Saturday, which serves as a strategic platform for accessing international markets and enhancing trade exchange.
Mezzour highlighted Ecuador’s geographical location, suggesting it provides promising opportunities to boost trade and joint investments, benefiting Morocco’s economic fabric and expanding the kingdom’s international cooperation network. He expressed Morocco’s eagerness to establish quality partnerships with Ecuador based on complementary economic interests.
For her part, the Ecuadorian minister praised the climate of trust and cooperation that characterized the meeting, noting that the discussions concentrated on identifying the sectors where both countries can integrate production efforts. She announced plans to organize future economic missions to prepare a joint action program based on practical and tangible partnerships.
Sommerfeld affirmed that the new momentum between Morocco and Ecuador opens significant prospects for investment and cooperation, which could contribute to enhancing the economic growth of both parties and support their developmental objectives.
