Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, confirmed during a meeting of the Education, Culture, and Communication Committee in the House of Representatives that hosting the 2030 World Cup represents a pivotal strategic moment in the development of Moroccan sports and a historic opportunity to establish Morocco as an international player and a continental destination for sporting excellence.

Lekjaa explained that hosting the 2030 World Cup is a major strategic opportunity that should be leveraged to convey positive messages, develop infrastructure, and enhance regional development across the national territory.

In this context, he considered Morocco’s participation in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to be a turning point that reflected authentic national values of pride in belonging, confidence in young talents, and belief in Morocco’s ability to shine on international stages.

He also emphasized that organizing the 2030 World Cup would contribute to job creation and provide a significant boost to the country’s development path, within a cohesive and integrated societal framework.

Furthermore, the Education, Culture, and Communication Committee unanimously approved Bill No. 35.25, regarding the establishment of the “Morocco 2030 Foundation,” which will oversee the organization of international events related to football, including the 2030 World Cup.
