A direct flight line between Rabat and Al Hoceima draws attention to Parliament
Parliamentary advisor Fatima Al Saadi, representing the Authenticity and Modernity Party in the House of Councillors, has called for the establishment of a direct flight route connecting Al Hoceima and the capital Rabat, as part of efforts to enhance air connectivity between various regions of the kingdom and achieve spatial equity.
Al Saadi directed a written inquiry to Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdel Samad Guioh, highlighting the significant difficulties faced by the residents of Al Hoceima due to the absence of this route, particularly concerning the movement of students, employees, and visitors to central administrations.
The parliamentarian pointed out that the air isolation experienced by Al Hoceima not only affects social aspects but also negatively impacts economic and tourism activity, limiting local development opportunities and reducing the region’s attractiveness for investment. She considered that establishing this flight line would constitute an important step towards promoting balance among regions and contributing to sustainable development in the area.
Al Saadi urged the government to disclose the practical measures and procedures planned for creating this route as soon as possible, asserting that strengthening domestic air connectivity is a crucial lever for alleviating isolation and achieving spatial equity among different regions of Morocco.
