Jacob Zuma in Rabat to Support Autonomy Initiative at Invitation of Authenticity and Modernity Party

The Authenticity and Modernity Party welcomed Jacob Zuma, the former President of South Africa and leader of the African National Congress, today Thursday at its headquarters in Rabat. This visit is part of an official work trip to Morocco at the party’s invitation.

Discussions took place between Zuma and the party leadership, attended by Fatima Zahra Mansouri, the coordinator of the collective leadership, along with Mehdi Bennani, Fatima Saadi, Najwa Kokus, head of the National Council, and Younes Maamer, a member of the political bureau responsible for foreign relations.

The meeting provided an opportunity to explore cooperation prospects between the Authenticity and Modernity Party and the African National Congress. The two parties agreed to exchange visits, particularly between their youth wings, and to establish a platform for dialogue and consultation on issues of mutual interest.

This visit is part of Morocco’s parallel diplomacy with South Africa, especially following Zuma’s expression of support for Morocco’s autonomy initiative as a solution to the regional conflict over Western Sahara, indicated in a document issued by his party.
