An imam at the mosque in the “Sidi Allal Belhaj” neighborhood in Ain Sebaa used the Friday prayer to inform worshippers and residents about the need to prepare for their departure from the neighborhood next August, according to a circular received from local authorities.
A source informed “Express TV” that the imam emphasized that the deadline set by local authorities at the end of the school year has been met, as the demolition was initially scheduled for last March. However, officials postponed this until the end of June to ensure the safety and education of students in the area. He confirmed that the relocation process will begin next August and urged everyone to prepare for this change before law enforcement intervenes in case of refusal to vacate quietly.
The site source stated that the majority of the residents benefited from housing in the outskirts of Casablanca, although some have requested additional housing due to having larger families since their children participated in these informal buildings. However, local authorities rejected this request, providing one housing unit for each family based on what is recorded in the neighborhood’s documentation.
