CHAMPIONSHIP 2025: First Training Session for the Lions in Nairobi
In a charged atmosphere marked by seriousness and ambition, the Moroccan national local team has begun its serious preparations for the finals of the African Championship for Local Players, known as “CHAN,” which will be hosted by East African countries: Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. National coach Tarik Skitiwi laid down the first technical and tactical touches on the group during a training session held at the secondary pitch of the Kasarani Sports Complex in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
The first training session saw a high level of commitment from the players, amid an atmosphere dominated by discipline and focus, reflecting the strong desire of Skitiwi’s squad to represent Moroccan football in the best way possible and to seriously defend their chances in this continental event.
The “Lions of the Championship” will kick off their continental journey with a tough match against Angola on Sunday at 4 PM GMT+1. They will continue their group stage campaign facing the host nation, Kenya, on August 10, followed by a match against Zambia on August 14, and concluding the first round with a match against the Democratic Republic of the Congo on August 17.
The coaching staff and players hope for a strong start that will give them a morale boost to advance in the competition and restore the glory of local football on the continental stage.
