Wydad officially exits the FIFA Club World Cup from the group stage after Manchester City’s victory over Al Ain.

The Wydad Athletic Club has officially departed from the FIFA Club World Cup competitions after Monday morning, having participated only in the group stage of the tournament held in the United States.

The Moroccan representative was eliminated following a significant 6-0 victory by English side Manchester City over UAE’s Al Ain, which secured City’s qualification alongside Italian club Juventus.

Wydad began its journey in Group G with two consecutive losses, first against Manchester City 2-0, and then against Juventus with a score of 4-1. This left them with zero points, placing them third in the group standings, ahead of only Al Ain on goal difference.

Juventus temporarily topped the table with 6 points, scoring 9 goals, while Manchester City also had 6 points but with only 8 goals to their name. The final round will be crucial in determining the group leader, as the two teams are set to meet in a decisive match to claim the top spot that qualifies for the Round of 16.
