The Wydad Athletic Club suffered a defeat against Italian side Juventus, ending with a score of 4-1 in a match held as part of the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Juventus dominated the game from the outset, leveraging the experience of its players and tactical organization, managing to score two goals in the first half through Turkish forward Kenan Yıldız. However, Wydad did not give up and responded with a commendable goal from South African Thimthekosi Lorch, softening the blow before the end of the first half.
In the second half, the Moroccan team sought to recover from the deficit, but Juventus’s superiority remained evident, as they added a third goal and then a fourth from a penalty converted by Dušan Vlahović, sealing a well-deserved victory for the Italian side.
Despite the loss, Wydad displayed fighting spirit against a team with a storied history in European competitions, showcasing moments of offensive play that delighted their fans. However, the gap in quality and focus was clear, especially in dealing with the opponent’s organized attacks.
