Dutch player Bart Meijers has recently joined Wydad Casablanca as the team prepares to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
This transfer is one of several made by Wydad’s management to strengthen the squad of the African champion in anticipation of a commendable representation of Moroccan football in the expanded version of the Club World Cup.
Coach Mohamed Amin Benhachem revealed that he will rely on foreign players with contracts only during the World Cup, with the option to extend for one or two years, provided they meet certain criteria. He emphasized that the vast majority of foreign players have been signed on loan.
