The Tapoma Police Department clarified the reality behind a YouTube video and reserves the right to take legal action.
On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the Tapoma Police released a statement indicating that they had reviewed a video posted on YouTube containing false statements and distortions of legal facts by an individual who is under judicial investigation. This person was hosted by one of the page administrators without verifying the accuracy of the information.
The statement explained that the case in question involves an assault and injury, currently being handled by the second security district at the police station in Ksar al-Kebir, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
According to the same source, the individual in question was subjected to custody measures following the public prosecutor’s instructions, after all legal guarantees were met, which included notifying his mother and registering him in the records of individuals referred to justice.
During his detention, the suspect experienced health complications that necessitated his transfer to the local hospital, where he received initial treatment before being returned to the police department and subsequently transferred again to the regional hospital in Tangier based on the physician’s directives.
The statement emphasized that the lifting of custody was not a security decision but was made under the public prosecutor’s instructions to delay the investigation until he recovered, while the judicial process remains open under the oversight of the judiciary.
The police source also confirmed that several witnesses who were with the suspect were interviewed, and their testimonies have been referred to the public prosecutor’s office, remaining confidential.
