Royal Air Maroc Connects Africa to Europe with Four New Destinations

Royal Air Maroc has launched a new phase in its development strategy by announcing four new international routes from Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca. The new destinations include Munich (Germany), Zurich (Switzerland), N’Djamena (Chad), and Sal Island (Cape Verde). This initiative, set to take effect from September 2025, aims to solidify Casablanca’s position as a key regional air hub connecting Africa and Europe.

In a press release issued on June 30, 2025, the national carrier confirmed that these new air routes are designed to meet the needs of travelers from various backgrounds, including Moroccan and African communities as well as international tourists. This move aligns with the company’s policy of openness and expansion to enhance its presence in promising markets.

Starting September 17, the direct flight between Casablanca and Zurich will operate twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays). Flights from Morocco will depart at 8:00 AM and arrive in Zurich at 12:10 PM, with the return flight scheduled for 1:10 PM, landing back in Casablanca at 3:25 PM.

On the same day, flights to N’Djamena, the capital of Chad, will commence with twice weekly service (Wednesdays and Saturdays). The aircraft will leave Casablanca at 11:10 PM, arriving the following morning at 4:35 AM. The return flight is set for 5:35 AM, landing in Casablanca at 10:55 AM.

The third destination, Sal Island in Cape Verde, will begin service on September 18, operating twice a week (Thursdays and Sundays). Flights will depart at night and arrive the next morning, with returns scheduled early Friday and Monday.

A month after this expansion, the new route to Munich will be launched starting October 20, with two weekly flights (Mondays and Fridays). Flights will leave Casablanca at 1:30 PM, arriving in Germany at 6:00 PM, with the return flight from Munich at 7:00 PM and landing in Morocco at 9:35 PM.

In this context, Royal Air Maroc’s CEO, Hamid Addou, stated: “The launch of these four routes marks a new stage in our development plan, accompanying the continuous improvement of our customers’ experience through modern services on board, enhanced connectivity, and the development of airport reception. We strive to make Royal Air Maroc a reference for comfort and reliability while promoting Morocco as a preferred global destination.”

This expansion reaffirms Royal Air Maroc’s commitment to enhancing connectivity between the African continent and the rest of the world, whether through supporting overseas communities or facilitating travel within Africa itself. The company aims to leverage these routes to boost tourism and trade flows, particularly with European destinations.

Tickets for these new routes are available on the airline’s official website www.royalairmaroc.ma, through call centers, travel agencies, and authorized travel agency networks.
