Leila Zouain, an regional police chief and head of the modern technology crimes division at the General Directorate of National Security, has been elected as the deputy head of the International Interpol Cybercrime Experts Team.

Zouain’s election took place during the first annual meeting of this international team, held on June 4 and 5 at the headquarters of the Interpol General Secretariat in Lyon, France. The meeting focused on electing the team’s structures and defining its objectives.

Zouain will oversee the “empowerment” focus area, which is dedicated to developing legal and technical mechanisms to protect victims of cybercrime and equip law enforcement agencies with tools to investigate and combat this type of crime.
