Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian asserted on Monday that his country does not aim to develop nuclear weapons but insists on its right to utilize nuclear energy and conduct related research. Bezhakian emphasized Iran’s commitment to the fatwa of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which forbids the use of weapons of mass destruction.
The Iranian president called on all officials to overcome internal divisions and unite in the face of ongoing Israeli attacks that have lasted for four days. Speaking before the Shura Council, he stated, “All disputes and outstanding issues should be set aside today; we need true unity and cohesion to confront this criminal aggression aimed at extermination.”
