Iran Calls for Guarantees on Sanctions Relief
Iran urged the United States on Monday to provide “guarantees” regarding the lifting of sanctions that are suffocating the country’s economy, following a U.S. proposal for a potential nuclear deal.
Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, stated in a weekly press conference in Tehran, “We want guarantees concerning the lifting of sanctions,” adding, “So far, the U.S. side has not shown a willingness to clarify this matter.”
