By the Numbers: Cement Sales Rise by 9.48%
The Ministry of National Land Planning, Urbanism, Housing and City Policy reported that cement sales surpassed 6 million tons by the end of May, reflecting an increase of 9.48% compared to the same period last year.
In its monthly report on cement sales trends, the ministry indicated that the distribution sales reached 3.31 million tons, followed by ready-mix concrete at 1.51 million tons, pre-mixed concrete (627,126 tons), construction materials (179,089 tons), infrastructure (396,907 tons), and mortar (24,937 tons).
The ministry further noted that cement deliveries in May alone amounted to 1.52 million tons, representing a growth of 6.99% relative to the same month the previous year.
The source stated that these statistics were derived from internal data provided by members of the Professional Association of Cement Companies, including Timar Cement, Atlas Cement, Morocco Cement, Lafarge Holcim Morocco, and Novacem (a member since January 2024).
