The Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, Li Changlin, emphasized the notable development in Sino-Moroccan relations in recent years during an address on Friday in Marrakech.

Changlin, who delivered a lecture on “Sino-Moroccan Relations in the New Era and Prospects for Their Development” as part of the “Tribune de Marrakech” seminar series organized by Cadi Ayyad University, stated that the Sino-Moroccan partnership is experiencing unprecedented acceleration, bolstered by investments in key sectors such as automotive, green energy, and textiles.

During his speech, the Chinese ambassador reviewed the dynamic nature of bilateral relations, stressing the important role of university cooperation between the two countries, which could open new horizons for collaboration.

He remarked, “Higher education institutions in both countries are called upon to exchange their expertise to add a new dimension to Sino-Moroccan partnership,” pointing out that Morocco and China boast a rich cultural heritage that receives significant international attention during festivals and exhibitions.

Changlin noted with satisfaction “the continuous increase in the number of Chinese tourists visiting Morocco and vice versa,” which serves as a tangible sign of the rapprochement between the two peoples, adding that the complementary economies and shared vision of both countries pave the way for mutually beneficial cooperation.

For his part, the President of Cadi Ayyad University, Belaid Boukaid, highlighted the historical strength of relations between Morocco and China, underscoring the promising prospects for academic collaboration between the two nations. Boukaid added that “Moroccan universities have established an ambitious network of cooperation with their counterparts in China, covering strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, digitization, medicine, renewable energies, and agriculture.”

The seminar witnessed interactions with the attending students, signaling the importance both countries place on youth as a key player in future relations.
