In response to claims circulated on an online platform regarding the family of inmate (A.H.) requesting explanations about his mysterious death, alleged neglect, mistreatment, and failure to notify his family of his passing, the administration issued a clarification statement to the public.

The statement explained that the inmate (A.H.) experienced difficulty in breathing on April 30, 2025, and was immediately transferred to the regional hospital in Larache. The hospital, in turn, decided to refer him to the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Tangier, where he passed away on May 4, 2025, after suffering a stroke.

Regarding the allegations of negligence and mistreatment, the prison administration categorically denied these claims, affirming that the inmate received the necessary medical care like all other detainees, and he had never filed any complaints in this regard.

The prison institution also clarified that it had notified the inmate’s family of his death through a telegram sent to the address he provided during his registration.

The statement reiterated the administration’s commitment to respecting inmate rights and providing them with necessary care as mandated by law, urging caution in the dissemination of information concerning such sensitive issues.
