Morocco’s phosphate and its derivatives exports reached 20.3 billion dirhams by the end of March, marking an increase of 18.2% compared to the same period last year, according to the Foreign Exchange Office.

In its report on the monthly indicators of external trade for March 2025, the office attributed this performance to a 14.9% rise in the exports of “natural and chemical fertilizers” to 14.8 billion dirhams, a 52.8% increase in “phosphate” exports to 2.01 billion dirhams, and a 17.2% rise in “phosphoric acid” exports to 3.5 billion dirhams.

The aviation sector also boosted its exports by 15%, exceeding 7 billion dirhams, benefiting from a 17.9% increase in “assembly” sales to 4.54 billion dirhams and a 10.4% rise in “electric connection systems” to 2.46 billion dirhams.

Additionally, exports were supported by the “other mining extractions” sector, which grew by 20.2% to reach 1.38 billion dirhams, and “other industries,” which increased by 16.8% to 7.52 billion dirhams. The “agriculture and food industries” sector also saw a 0.8% rise, amounting to 26.74 billion dirhams.

Conversely, exports in the “electronics and electricity” sector fell by 11.6% to 4.21 billion dirhams, while “automobiles” exports decreased by 7.8% to 37.36 billion dirhams, and “textiles and leather” dropped by 1.4% to 11.51 billion dirhams.
