On the occasion of Labor Day, sanitation workers in Agadir protested to demand better wages and working conditions.

Dozens of sanitation workers took to the streets of Agadir on the morning of Thursday, May 1, in a demonstration marking Labor Day, marching through various main streets.

The protesters raised slogans calling for improved wages, decent working conditions, and proper safety measures, also demanding the regularization of workers with temporary contracts.

The slogans condemned what the protesters referred to as a “systematic marginalization” of this group, urging serious dialogue with the relevant authorities and calling on the local council to take responsibility for monitoring the commitments of delegated management companies.

This protest comes as part of a series of demonstrations occurring in several Moroccan cities coinciding with May 1, amidst increasing demands from workers for improvements in their professional and social conditions.
