Over a thousand projects of the National Initiative have been implemented in Skhirat-Témara, costing around one billion dirhams.
The announcement was made during a communication meeting organized by the Skhirat-Témara prefecture on Wednesday, marking the 20th anniversary of the launch of the National Initiative for Human Development. The meeting was chaired by the prefect of the region, Mustapha Nouhi, alongside the secretary general of the prefecture.
The event was attended by representatives from national organizations, elected officials, and institutional actors, who were presented with detailed information regarding the projects and programs completed between 2005 and 2025, along with their social and economic outcomes.
In his speech, the prefect emphasized that the National Initiative for Human Development, through its three programs, represents a strategic royal project, a comprehensive workshop driving economic growth and social cohesion, and a key component in achieving the desired development model. He pointed out that it reflects the governance of the king, who established the principles and foundations of this ambitious national program and its implementation methods.
The official added that the initiative acts as a catalyst for activities and a supporter of innovative projects, in harmony with government sectors and civil society to achieve local development and raise development indicators in Morocco.
He noted that, within the Skhirat-Témara prefecture, the total public investment mobilized for the projects under the National Initiative for Human Development reached 938.85 million dirhams, with the initiative contributing 631.54 million dirhams, describing the result as “positive and significant.”
The prefect also indicated that alongside these quantitative achievements, the initiative has brought about other important gains in establishing a system of values and principles, such as transparency, dignity, trust, participation, good governance, and sustainability.
For her part, Walid Belkhas, head of the social action department at the Skhirat-Témara prefecture, highlighted during her presentation of the results of the National Initiative for Human Development over the past twenty years that it has revitalized and developed the social economy, harnessing resources and potentials across various sectors, which positively impacted the living conditions of the targeted population.
She added that the number of beneficiaries from the projects implemented under the initiative during the period 2005-2025 reached 1,151,332, underscoring the new direction of the initiative’s interventions toward non-material aspects of human capital development, particularly concerning emerging generations, through integrated programs focused on early childhood, supporting education, enhancing employability, and promoting entrepreneurship among youth.
During the ceremony, which also featured a corporate film documenting various projects completed throughout the 20 years of the National Initiative for Human Development, along with live testimonials from successful project owners who received support from the initiative, checks were distributed to several project holders to support their initiatives and accompany their efforts in creating job opportunities and improving incomes.
