Morocco has advanced in the 2025 global startup ecosystem ranking, moving up to 88th place out of 118 countries, according to a report from the “Startup Blink” platform, which specializes in tracking innovation and entrepreneurship indicators.

This rise is not without basis, as it is backed by an annual growth rate of 23.1%, the highest in North Africa. This remarkable performance has solidified Morocco’s position as the third strongest innovation environment in the region, reflecting a gradual shift towards a knowledge-based economy.

At the heart of this transformation, Casablanca has emerged as the main driver, jumping 42 places to reach 317th globally. This dynamic is not limited to the economic capital but has also extended to Rabat, Marrakech, and Tangier, which have registered an increasing presence on the innovation map.

The expansion of emerging cities reflects a structural change in the distribution of opportunities within the country, opening the door for new initiatives to enhance investment in technology and empower entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into projects with tangible economic impacts.
