Morocco Attracts Russian Tourists: Summer 2025 Bookings Increase Fivefold

A recent report from the Russian travel platform “OneTwoTrip” indicates that Morocco is experiencing an unprecedented influx of Russian tourists, with predictions that the number of visitors from Russia will increase fivefold during the summer of 2025 compared to the same period last year.

The platform, based on advance booking data, noted that Morocco has become a preferred destination for Russians seeking travel experiences different from traditional locations. This notable rise reflects a significant shift in Morocco’s position on the Russian tourism map.

According to an analysis of travel trends among Russian tourists, Abkhazia ranked second in terms of growth, with a 50% increase, while European destinations such as Spain (9.1%), France (+75%), and Italy (+50%) also recorded substantial increases in bookings, alongside other countries like Vietnam (+45%), Uzbekistan (+44%), and Armenia (+15%).

In Africa, Egypt and South Africa maintained their status as top destinations for Russian tourists, with bookings to Egypt rising by 75% and to South Africa by 57%.

These indicators reflect a gradual shift in Russian tourists’ preferences, with an increasing interest in warm destinations rich in cultural diversity, such as Morocco, which seems to be benefiting from its relative stability, rapid tourism development, and the open policy it pursues in its international relations.
