Collective Leadership of PAM: The Sahara is a Sovereign Priority and Palestine is a National Cause
During the 30th session of the National Council, the collective leadership of the Authenticity and Modernity Party reaffirmed the party’s commitment to significant national issues, foremost among them the Moroccan Sahara, which it described as a “sovereign battle” that the state is fighting with a blend of diplomatic intelligence and economic development.
The leadership emphasized that the Sahara project is not limited to a territorial dimension but represents a renewed developmental model reflected in major projects underway in the southern provinces, alongside a political and international dynamic that has yielded increasing recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern territories.
In the same context, the collective leadership expressed a clear and steady position on the Palestinian issue, considering it a national cause. It affirmed that support for the Palestinian people “is not subject to any opportunism” but stems from the fundamental values of the party based on solidarity and humanity.
Party leaders noted that the positions of the Authenticity and Modernity Party regarding Palestine are not new, but rather are firmly rooted and built on field interaction, recalling a previous visit by a party delegation to Jerusalem as a message of genuine solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of occupation and violations.
The collective leadership highlighted that the delicate phase the country is undergoing, both regionally and internationally, necessitates clarity in positions and national cohesion around sovereign issues, calling for enhanced coordination within the ruling majority and a sense of political responsibility that serves the interests of the nation and its citizens.
This stance came within a broader vision articulated by the leadership in its opening speech, which linked party work to the challenges of development and the defense of Morocco’s highest interests, in line with the commitment to support the development project led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
