Abdelatif Hammouchi: The Troubling Line of Defense!

What Mr. Abdelatif Hammouchi faces is not a disagreement over opinions or a public debate regarding policies, but a clear attempt to undermine what he represents: rigor, legitimacy, integrity, and institutional stability.
As a media professional, I have always preferred to express my positions and have sought to excuse colleagues who criticized my editorial choices, respecting their silence and even their criticism of me. However, the moment demands open, clear, and explicit support. For what is targeted today is not only Hammouchi as an individual but the dignity of institutions, the continuity of the state, and the trust of citizens in its apparatus.
In this context, I was struck by a high-level article published by Parlament.com in French, where colleagues provided a deep and balanced analysis of the reality of what is happening. The article clearly revealed that the campaign against Mr. Hammouchi is not external, as intended to mislead public opinion, but locally origin, distributed through a network of politically and morally eroded figures, both inside and outside Morocco. Hicham Gerando, Zakariaa El Mouni, Ali Marabat, Suleiman Raissouni, and Idris Farhan… names that repeatedly emerge with a pathological insistence, attacking the man without evidence and leveling accusations based on vendettas rather than on the state’s logic.
Parlament.com highlighted facts that cannot be overlooked: Hammouchi oversaw the dismantling of hundreds of terrorist cells, coordinated quality security operations with France and Belgium, and contributed to preventing bloodbaths that could have targeted civilians in the heart of Europe. The agencies he manages have earned the trust of international bodies, and their collaboration with the DGST and DGSN is now a reference for cross-border security coordination.
In contrast, the man remains silent. He does not respond, does not comment, does not justify. Because, as the article noted, he does not need to. It is enough for him that he works with the confidence of the King and the trust of all who understand the meaning of sovereignty, rigor, and effective calm.
Therefore, the national media today is called to do more than just condemn. It is called to fight a battle for awareness because the target is no longer an individual but a symbol. Those who yesterday criticized us when we warned against the dangers of leniency toward advocates of chaos must today clarify their positions: either they stand with the nation or withdraw from the scene, because this is not a moment for the indecisive.
Here is where the boundaries of national security are drawn. Here, neutrality is not an option.
