The Public Prosecution Office Participates in the International Book and Publishing Fair in Rabat

The Public Prosecution Office is participating in the thirtieth edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair, which is organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, from April 18 to 26, 2025, in the city of Rabat.

According to a statement from the Public Prosecution Office, this participation comes through the organization of a series of seminars and dialogue sessions under the slogan: “A Citizen Prosecution Office… Ensuring Rights and Freedoms.” The goal is to bring justice closer to citizens and to accompany public discussions on current issues.

The Public Prosecution Office’s booth at the fair will host a variety of scientific activities, featuring judges, university professors, and experts who will discuss multiple topics related to the protection of rights and freedoms and the development of criminal policies.

The meetings will kick off with a seminar on the protection of rights and freedoms on Thursday, April 24, discussing the effectiveness of public policies in ensuring human rights, the role of the Public Prosecution in upholding fair trial standards, and guarantees for detainees, along with the protection of vulnerable groups.

The following day, Friday, April 25, the focus will be on the topic of anti-corruption and enhancing public integrity, addressing financial investigation techniques in corruption crimes, as well as the efforts of the Public Prosecution and the National Integrity Authority in combating this phenomenon.

On Saturday, April 26, sessions will be dedicated to the digital space and the risks of violence, where discussions will cover digital violence from legal, psychological, and medical perspectives, with a special emphasis on victims of cyberbullying, particularly children.

Other important topics will also be raised, such as alternative penalties, the protection of economic security, judicial protection for women and children, pretrial detention, and the challenges of artificial intelligence in the justice system and journalism between freedom and responsibility.

According to the statement, these meetings aim to promote a citizen legal culture, enhance transparency and public trust in justice, in addition to discussing the challenges posed by digital transformation and technological advancement.

Through this participation, the Public Prosecution Office reaffirms its steadfast commitment to serving justice, defending rights, and ensuring effective justice in light of the changes occurring in Moroccan society.
